It's out!

... and exactly how we wanted it!

Distribution starts today.

If you don't get one, please, please understand that it's only because the limited tables available are largely reserved for family and friends of our parents (some of which we will probably never see again) and NOT because we don't love you okay? **hugs**

'Tying' the Knot

This is really how this journey started, my father in-law thinking that I was basking for material wealth... hmmm.. but I on the other hand had an ulterior motive! Move in for the attack and get married.

Not long after that, my father in-law duly made me a nice hot dog. Yes, as the date of the knot tying ceremony draws close, many of the dating phase jargon's such as future father-in-law-to-be will make a debut appearance...

p/s - The wedding is often referred to also as 'tying the knot', because the whole world was Indian and still is, only that many are still living in denial that they're not. For 'simplicity's' sake one can only tie a knot with the thali and not a ring.... That just struck my Indian brain.

In fifty years I may well be one of the last survivors of the to be defunct thorough bred Indian, from Tanja Ooore, originating from the Puthukottai land. However, I will be living happily ever, but not after as after has yet to come with my wife to be, the evergreen .... Melissa, in the midst of the lovely luscious concrete jungle Sri Hartamas. All are welcome to join and enjoy this Union! Aunty I love thee with all me heart.....!!!!

Our Prayer

Everything I hope for in this relationship, all my wishes, my dreams and desires are in this prayer I found on the internet.

It's on my wall in my office room. Right where I can see it. Right when I need to remember that God is as much a part of this, as Sham & I are.

Prayers for Couples
by Marianne Willamson

Dear God,

Please make of our relationship a great
and holy adventure.
May our joining be a sacred space.
May the two of us find rest here,
a haven for our souls.
Remove from us any temptation to judge one another
or to direct one another.
We surrender to You our conflicts and our burdens.
We know You are our answer and our rock.
Help us to not forget.
Bring us together in heart and mind as well as body.
Remove from us the temptation to criticize or be cruel.
May we not be tempted by fantasies and projections.
but guide us in the ways of holiness.
Save us from darkness.
May this relationship be a burst of light.
May it be a fount of love and wisdom for us,
for our family, for our community, for our world.
May this bond be a channel for Your love and healing,
a vehicle of Your grace and power.
As lessons come and challenges grow,
let us not be tempted to forsake each other.
Let us always remember that in each other we have
the most beautiful woman, the most beautiful man,
the strongest one, the sacred one in whose arms we are repaired.
May be remain young in this relationship.
Bring us what You desire for us,
And show us how You would have us be.
Thank You, dear God,
You who are the cement between us.
Thank You for this love.

Amen.

Loving Hands

This is Nana, lovingly and tirelessly cutting and tying the little green bows which will decorate the fruit cake boxes for my wedding.

Love is all around me. And I'm so very grateful.

And I haven't even told you what my mum and mum-in-law-to-be have been running around doing!

Tabasco, Sham?

Sham & I were at one of favourite hang outs last Friday night - Salvador in Damansara Heights. We totally love it for its great food, quiet ambience and classy do up. Exactly what boring people like us need on a Friday nite ;)

Anyway, while we were there, I jokingly challenged Sham to drink some Tabasco sauce straight up! Obviously, I was joking right? I mean, this is Tabasco sauce we're talking about. The one that's made from this!! -

For some reason, our macha decides to take up my challenge! I should have known... Indian rite?!!

I managed to capture said Indian in action - as he attempts what he no doubt perceives as - the utlimate Jantan test.

First, douce a blobful onto palm

Then lick entire blobful off palm

Feel your tongue on fire

Now, feel your guts on fire

Lastly, pretend it's all good - best thing you've ever tasted!

If you're ever in the neighbourhood, do drop by at Salvadors.

It's lovely. Just don't drink the Tabasco sauce straight up.

Me? Housework? Sure!

The house is slowly starting to take shape. Soon, Shaman & I will begin a new life together in it - dreaming our dreams and living out true domestic bliss!

As a new wife, of course there will be many expectations of me to make my new house a lovely home....ahhhh joy!

In the meantime, I just thought I'd post these pictures up - for absolutely NO REASON AT ALL!
Have a nice day, everyone!

Missing Earring

One of the first gifts Shaman got me were these beautiful Swarovski crystal earrings.

I've worn them everyday since... that is until after the birthday party in Athena's on Saturday nite, where I took them off in exchange for a black loop pair Sajeera lent me which better suited my outfit.

I was, at that point, slightly intoxicated and failed to exercise the usual care in putting them away. So, I carelessly chucked them into my purse. It could have slipped out at anytime during the night and landed just about anywhere!!

I called Selva, the birthday boy and owner of Athena's, twice, texted him and even wrote on his wall in Facebook. Totally harrased the guy to get his staff to find my earrings!!

He tried... but to no avail.

My beautiful earring lies somewhere unfound in Athena's.

I am really saddened.

P.S. - If you ever go to Athena's and happen to see my earring... CALL ME!!!

Selva's 31st at Athenas, Pavillion

This has got to be one of the nicest photos ever taken of Sham & I.

I can't remember the last time we looked this good! Woo hooo!

Thanks Anju, for taking such a cool shot and for posting it! :)

Panic AttAck!

The wedding's in 2 months or so...

One weekend after another and next thing you know, the 2 months will fly by and it'll be the wedding day.

I would have looked like crap because my mum, sis and I couldn't agree on which accessories matched my dress well and in the end, the one we chose actually looked awful when worn with the dress!

My bouquet would look like crap because I gave my flower lady too much of a free hand in designing it when all along, she actually had no idea what I really wanted!

Half our guests wouldn't have attended because the invitations went out too late and didn't reach them in time!

The ones who do attend would have gotten hugely confused about where their seats were because I didn't organize the seating well enough and didn't train my registration team!

All our guests would have left right after dinner and no one would have stayed to dance because I didn't have enough time to compile good dancing songs!

Our speech and multimedia presentation would have been so boring because we didn't start working on it early enough!

Everyone would have gone home complaining because the food took so damn long to be served!

We would have moved into a dusty and almost empty house because we started renovations too late! All our cutlery, utensils, appliances, clothes, etc would be on the floor or in boxes because we took our own sweet time getting the cabinets sorted!

... oh gawd.. I need a drink!

Nice, kan? :)
